Our Approach

A play-based approach involves both child-initiated and teacher-supported learning. This happens when: 

​

  • The teacher encourages learning through interactions

  • The teacher takes an active role in guiding interactions in play

  • Children are supported in developing social skills like cooperation, sharing, responding, negotiating and resolving conflicts

 

Play based learning - at its core - is that learning should be fun. Here at Santa Clara Sunshine Daycare, we implement that style of learning everyday, with inspiration from Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies, so children can learn through hands-on experiences and active play. 

Toddlers

They’re on the move! We have a safe environment and fun curriculum for toddlers to explore.

Preschool

Every day, your child will explore science experiments, create artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
heading off to Pre-K!
